Berbagai macam source code J2ME

J2ME merupakan suatu platform java 2 yang dikeluarkan olen Sun untuk mengembang aplikasi embedded device yang berbasis java. secara umum J2ME terdiri dari 3 bagian yaitu:

konfigurasi merupakan bagian yang berisi JVM dan beberapa library minimum yang dibutuhkan agar suatu aplikasi J2ME dapat berjalan pada suatu device misal handphone. pada dasarnya konfigurasi dibagi menjadi 2 yaitu CDC (Connected Device Configuration) dan CDLC (Connected Limited Device Configuration).

CDC mempunyai ciri sebagai berikut 2 MB atau lebih memory untuk Java platform. 32-bit processor. High bandwidth network connection.17 paket, full-featured Java 2 virtual machine
CDLC mempunyai ciri sebagai berikut 160 – 512 KB total memory 16-bit / 32-bit processor ,Low power consumption dan Connectivity with limited bandwidth , paket yang digunakan : java.lang , java.io , java.util dan Limited VM (KVM)

profile merupakan kumpulan libary yang merupakan perluasan dari konfigurasi. sehingga fungsi dari profil akan membantu secara fungsionalitas dengan menyediakan kelas yang tidak terdapat pada level konfigurasi. pada dasarnya ada banyak profile yang ada dalam mengembangkan aplikasi J2ME antara lain :Mobile Information Device Profile (MIDP),Personal Digital Assistant Profile (PDAP), Foundation Profile (FP), Personal Basis Profile (PBP), Personal Profile. salah satu profile yang sering digunakan adalah MIDP ( CLDC Based ). hal ini disebabkan spesifikasi MIDP telah didefinisikan oleh Java Community Process (JCP) seperti motorola, nokia, Symbian.
paket optional merupakan paket tambahan yang dibutuhkan oleh aplikasi sehingga saat deployment, paket tersebut perlu didistribusikan juga sebagai bagian dari aplikasi.
